Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil, smell no evil, taste no evil, and kick no evil.

  • Mood: I am in "Psych" withdrawal. I don't think I'll make it until January.
  • What I'm reading now: Stephenie Meyer, "New Moon". Yeah, the hype made me want to read it again.
  • Quote: Shawn: "I honestly had no idea he was going to be pulling a corpse from the ground." Gus: "Don't worry about it, Shawn. I honestly didn't know I was gonna be putting my foot in your ass. Life's full of surprises." - Psych

Had a nice day yesterday!  Picked up Ali from work and then we went out for Chinese food. Ran a couple errands, then just chilled for the rest of the day.  Toodles was restless because it was raining and I couldn't take him for a nice long walk.  I got him a new toy yesterday while I was out, though.  A stuffed pig with rope for arms and legs.  Before I gave it to him, I cut off the tail and tags because I knew he'd rip them off anyway.

Within the next five minutes I cut off the eyes and ears.  Then I had to cut away the thread that made the nostrils and smile, and had to sew up a hole in the nose.  Within the next hour, I had to amputate a hind leg.

I finally took it away from him because he tried to rip a hole where the amputated leg had been and I didn't feel like sewing anything else up.  It's funny, but it makes me sad because Tumnus is DELIRIOUSLY happy with any form of stuffed animal...then he gets into a fantastic dismemberment session, and mean ol' mom has to spoil his fun.  Siiiiigh.

However...yay, because it's Mole Day!  6.022 x 10^23!!!  The most elegant number.

And although this isn't chemsitry, it's science related.  I was flipping through an old notebook, looking for stories I'd written, and I came across three or four pages of practice problems from a physics study session back in undergrad.  I spent a couple minutes admiring my work, the neat rows of numbers, the cute little theta symbols, and then moved on, at peace with the knowledge that I now neither remember nor comprehend anything I was just looking at.

We used to buy stuffed animals for our dog at the Goodwill Store. It was a lot cheaper for something she'd shred so quickly.
