Life, the Universe, and Everything.
(Mostly Harmless.)
I got to work, took Tumnus to go potty, then realized I'd locked my keys in my car. First time I've ever done that. So I had to call the police to jimmy my door open - fortunately, they did, so a HUGE thank you to the friendly officer who helped out!
I made it through the day, started to leave, and had to go back inside because I forgot my umbrella. I started my car, reached for my phone, then turned off my car and spent the next ten minutes rooting through my car and going back inside to try to find it. I finally found it on the floor in the ward where Tumnus stays.
Then I was sitting at home around 8, petting Tumminy and watching TV, when he rolled over to get his Tumnus Tummy (TM) scratched and I SAW A FLEA.
Just one flea, but that was enough. I got my literal shoes on and the T-bear and I got his metaphorical shoes on
and we blazed a trail back to the clinic so I could slap some Frontline on him. I've been kind of lax and not putting it on every month, but for the next few months at least, Tumnus is getting his Frontline.
So today when I do my regularly scheduled vacuuming I am going to vacuum the CRAP out of my carpet and throw away the bag. I already washed all of Tumnus' blankets and towels. Wash my throw rugs. Blanket the inside of my car with flea spray tomorrow when I'm at work, then vacuum it out. And probably vacuum on Saturday AND Sunday as well.
I did a flea check this morning and I can't see any on him. I do get a good look at him every day and haven't seen any fleas before...and since he hasn't been itchy I'm fairly certain this is a freak occurrance. But MAN am I glad I caught it.
Now I'm just going to finish my coffee before I start on my rapidly growing to-do list. Productivity, here I come!
