No kitchen for you!

  • Mood: ..Is it lame that I still find "Seinfeld" jokes funny?
  • What I'm reading now: Stephenie Meyer, "Breaking Dawn"

Just ten hours of work today and then I'm off for the weekend!  Although I wish I didn't have to go in today.  It's been...precipitating something outside.  Not snow, not ice, but tiny little ice balls.  It's like going out into a salt shaker.  Driving to work is going to be SUPER fun.

Mr. Tumnus is in hot water.  I have my kitchen blocked off with his crate and a baby gate so he can run around a little unsupervised while I'm getting ready in the morning, and this has worked fabulously until today.  He can get to a very tiny strip of carpet in front of his crate, and while I was eating breakfast this morning, he shredded a corner of it.  He's left it alone for two weeks now, so I thought he'd be okay.  But now he's lost all kitchen privileges and will have to stay in his crate while I can't keep an eye on him.  What really pisses me off is that I tried to find that bitter apple no-chew spray when I was shopping yesterday.  They didn't have it at Target and I didn't have time to go to Petsmart, so I planned to get some this weekend.

*sigh*

And since I didn't catch Tumnus in the act of vandalism, I couldn't scold him for it because he'd have no idea why he's in trouble.  It's not such a huge deal for *me* since I'm renting and all, but still.  I don't want to be one of Those Tenants whose pet destroys the place.  Don't get me wrong, this apartment could use some new carpet, but...STILL!  Dammit.

I don't quite know what to think about the book I'm reading.  I've decided that the first book in the Twilight series is my favorite and they sort of go downhill from there.  The fourth book is rather refreshing because the main character has FINALLY almost completely quit whining about everything, but there was this really bizarre, wrong, baby storyline that totally creeped me out.   Baby stuff makes me feel all squicky anyway, and this was just so twisted.  If I didn't need to know how things turn out, I probably would have quit reading.

On that note...

Weekend off!  Weekend off!  Weekend off!
