I'd feel better if we just called it "The Catch".

  • Music: I've got "Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi stuck in my head. Of course.
  • What I'm reading now: Almost done with "Eyes of the Dragon"!
  • Quote: Brandon: "If he does show up, I think it would be nice if we had a seat waiting for him." Kenny: "He'll be like our Elijah." - "My Boys"

Haha!  Oh my, Jeanie...the story about your friend and her dog...well, if you ignore the whole unplanned surgery part of it, it's pretty darn funny.  When I have a patient that has swallowed something, I kind of split the situation in half in my head...half of me is sorry for the poor critter (and for the owner, who now has to deal with surgery), but half of me thinks the situation is hilarious.  One of my professors (a veterinarian, mind you!) has a cat that I believe has needed six surgeries so far to remove foreign objects from his digestive tract.  This cat is maybe five or six years old by now.

So last night I watched the season opener for "Deadliest Catch", and while I was super excited to see all the crab dudes again, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.  Mostly because of all the angst.  Angst is all well and good, but not when it's happening to real people.  I don't want to see these guys having problems.   And I definitely don't want to hear about crab fishermen being pulled out of the Bering Sea.  I tell ya...during that little "This season on Deadliest Catch" teaser, I got really anxious, and there was one picture of Jake Harris that flashed by that scared the pants off me.  I keep telling myself it's just the Discovery Channel People trying to hype up the drama, but I'm going to worry until this season ends.
