Life, the Universe, and Everything.
(Mostly Harmless.)
You know that part in "The Empire Strikes Back" where Han docks the Falcon onto the Star Destroyer? And then when the destroyer is getting ready to jump to hyperspace, it dumps all the garbage? I always think of that scene whenever I get ready to leave for a while, because I go on this mad Must Throw It All Away frenzy. And now we are all sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am a dork because this makes two days in a row with a reference to Star Wars.
So now my apartment is purged of all things garbage-y, but it still looks like a tornado went through it. Which I am NOT fond of, especially when I'm getting ready to leave...
But I'm getting picked up by the airport shuttle at 4 AM, so really, how picky can I be? I'll just clean when I get home. As a side note, I really hate airport shuttles, but they're the cheapest and most convenient way for me to get myself to and from the airport.
But I think I'm pretty much packed...I always just have this lingering feeling that I'm forgetting something important and the world might spin off it's axis and go fling itself into the heart of the sun if I leave it behind...
I tell ya, though, this vacation can't come a moment too soon, because OY. True to form, the last day before vacation is hellish, stressful, and just to the left of completely bonkers. I left three hours late. But now I'm free for a week!!! Until I come back and have a ginormous wad o' work waiting for me.
Adiós, amigos!
